Do You Want to Just Barely Escape?

Let's not miss the important warning in this passage about the way we "build" our faith. #BibleLoveNotes #Bible

All genuine Christians “build” on the foundation of Christ. It’s part of “working out our salvation” (Philippians 2:12-13).

Some believers build carefully, deliberately, and wholeheartedly, focusing on heavenly treasure and God's purposes (Philippians 3:12-16; Matthew 6:19-21; Ephesians 2:10).

They're guided by the accurate teaching of Scripture (1 Timothy 4:16)

According to 1 Corinthians 3:10-15, they are building with “gold, silver, and costly stones” and yielding eternal rewards.(1)

Other Christians genuinely believe in Jesus, but they get sidetracked with false teaching.(2)

They pursue empty, legalistic, or selfish "Christian" teachings, all of which burn like "wood, hay, and straw" when tested. Scripture says these people enter eternity “barely escaping through the flames.”

This has nothing to do with salvation, but it has everything to do with how we live out our faith.

“For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.” 2 Corinthians 5:10

Let’s build with the right materials, dear Christians.

(2)  We must be especially cautious about popular teachings in the church. Let's refuse to build our faith on "straw" beliefs about material prosperity, self-esteem, adherence to Old Testament lawsword of faith doctrine, Boundaries, or anything else that misuses Scripture.
